Safe Motherhood: The Right of Every Mother

Safe Motherhood Day primarily focuses on the health and welfare of women throughout their pregnancy. Observed every year on April 11, National Safe Motherhood Day serves as a reminder to provide a safe space for every mother. An initiative of the White Ribbon Alliance India (WRAI), the day is marked to create and raise awareness around the importance of safe motherhood and providing proper care to expecting mothers.

What is safe motherhood?

Motherhood brings the most profound joy and fulfilment to every woman. For a woman, being a parent is a heart-lifting experience. It is central to the purpose of her life.
