Mohd Kamran Siddiqui, Dr Kiran Kumar Hegde. Role of MRI in evaluation of clinically suspected lumbar canal stenosis. A prospective study over 3 years which aimed at evaluation of role of MRI in patients presenting with low back ache with variable level of neurogenic claudication. The objectives were to determine the different causes of lumbar canal stenosis and their appearances on MRI, to radiologically grade severity of central and lateral canal stenosis and their correlation with clinical symptoms to provide an evidence based recommendation for proper evaluation of patients, to elicit the importance of nerve root sedimentation sign, thecal sac area, AP diameter and foramina diameter in diagnosis of lumbar canal stenosis. This study was performed during Radiology residency which helped me to gain in depth knowledge about clinical trials, study design concepts, statistical and clinical outcome analysis.
Clinical experience:
Includes interpretation of plain films, fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound (US) of body imaging and neuroradiology, conventional radiography and ultrasound guided procedures.
Various nonvascular and vascular interventions.
